ABOUT – Red fort is one of the historical forts in the world and it is situated in the center of Delhi, India. The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built this fort in 1639 (construction of Red fort begin in 1639 and was completed in 1648) as the palace of his fortified capital shahjahanabad. It is made up of red sandstone, that’s why it is named as red fort. Every year on 15th August, the independence day of India, the Prime Minister hoists the Indian flag at the main gate of the red fort and delivers a speech. It is the largest monument in Delhi and one of the most popular tourist places in India and attracts thousands of people every year. In the Evening a sound and light show at the fort describes the Mughal history, which is the main attraction source of this monument.
REASON BEHIND – This fort was the main residential area of the Mughal emperor, they lived there for 200 years until 1857 and it was also the ceremonial and the political Centre of the Mughal state.
